ELMO WANTS PERRY 'SESAME STREET' RETURN

Sesame Street stars Elmo and Grover have said that they would like Katy Perry to return to the show.

Perry had been due to appear on the PBS children's programme, but her performance was pulled after the video was posted on YouTube.

Parents had apparently objected to Perry's outfit, saying that it was not appropriate for a young audience.

Speaking on Good Morning America, Grover and Elmo joked about the controversy. "Elmo loves Miss Katy," the red furry creature said, adding that they would have another "play date" soon.

Grover then asked the presenters if his outfit was "too revealing".

This afternoon, Perry and her fiance Russell Brand reacted to the censorship on their Twitter pages, as Brand told followers: "Today's Sesame Street will NOT be brought to you by the number 34 or the letter D."
