Later, the station wagon breaks down in the desert, and it looks as if The Muppets will never make it to Hollywood in time for the audition. Gonzo gazes skyward and recalls his wonderous adventure with "I'm Going To Go Back There Someday". Kermit feels guilty for leading his pals in pursuit of a dream that won't come true.

The gloom is dispelled by the joyful arrival of Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem in their colourful road bus. Next morning, they all head for Hollywood.

Max, disguised as a highway patrolman, comes to warn them that Doc Hopper has hired a frog killer. Kermit decides he can't run forever and must face the bully. In a deserted Western ghost town. The Muppets meet Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant Beaker. They show off their marvellous inventions, including Insta-Grow pills, which fascinate Animal.

In a final Western-style showdown, Doc and his gang close in on Kermit and his friends. The frog killer (SCOTT WALKER) is poised for a kill. Suddenly, the top of a building erupts, revealing Animal enlarged to gargantuan size by Honeydew's pills. The thugs are scared off, and Doc and Max decide to reform and start a new business.

The Muppets arrive in Hollywood and go to the studio. They make their way past an uncooperative secretary (CLORIS LEACHMAN) into the elegant offices of legendary movie producer Lew Lord (ORSON WELLES). The majestic mogul
recognizes their talent.

Soon The Muppets are on a soundstage making a motion picture about the adventures they encountered getting to Hollywood. In "The Magic Store" they sing about the joys and tribulations of becoming an entertainer.

In the projection room, Sweetums finally catches up to his new friends by bursting through the screen, just as the final titles announce The End of 'The Muppet Movie"
